Taken By Him

Luke has everything and usually gets what he wants, so when he ends up in the hospital and can't seem to find anyone willing to sleep with him since he's injured he starts to despair and becomes moody. The few friends he has suggests he get out of dodge for awhile until the person that tried to kill him is captured. At first he doesn't want to but they convince him. We meet Peyton who is a business woman who is on a much needed vacation. She only has a few days left before heading back to her real life and job, when she meets the gorgeous and mysterious Luke. She is lusting after him with only one look and can't decide if she wants to run away from him or run to him.  There are some seriously sexy scenes in this book and I for one loved every one of them. Getting to know the characters was interesting to say the least. Luke seems like a spoiled brat, who wants everything to be a certain way and that's it. As we read more we learn there is a lot behind that playboy facade and he is not what he seems. Peyton is a successful business woman who we learn has desires just like every other woman in the world even though her business attitude plays that down into nonexistence. I really loved this book and the characters. I would read more by this author in a heartbeat. I would rate this book a four out of five stars and recommend everyone read it if you are looking for a sexy read.

Dress Her In Indigo

I really enjoyed this book in the Travis McGee series, I had some serious laughs when he and Rebecca left the party and did their own thing. She did things to him he had never had done and when it was all finished he tells Myers he earned and worked hard for the information he got. I laughed my butt off. I was surprised at the ending of this one, normally I can figure out what's going on and who done it lol but this time I was surprised! Loved it

Hotter On The Edge

Title: Hotter On The Edge                                                                                                                                                              Authors: Erin Kellison, KC Klein, Jessa Slade                                                                                                       Published: February 1, 2012

The first book I read was called All That Glitters by Erin Kellison and I have to say I was disappointed in this story. There was something about it that made me unable to connect to the characters. There was amazing descriptive details, however I just couldn't get into it. I found myself skipping along to end it quickly.

The second book is called To Buy A Wife by KC Klein was a cute story. I really loved the male main character Hudson. He was super sexy and the way he fights for what he wants is hot. I loved reading about his and Lake's story. This was a very cute story and I enjoyed it a lot more than the first book.

The third book is called Enslaved By Starlight and it is written by Jessa Slade. This story was a little odd for me. I didn't understand the relationship between the people and their crystals. I mean I got it a little bit but it was too weird for me.

Overall this book with two of the three stories just wasn't for me. The only story I enjoyed was To Buy A Wife, the characters were more to my liking. Although I did like the Captain in Enslaved By Starlight, I just couldn't get into the story.

Pale Gray For Guilt

Title: Pale Gray For Guilt
Author: John D. MacDonald
Published: May 21, 2013

This adventure with Travis McGee was a sad one if I do say so myself. Poor Trav doesn't have many true friends but that is what I felt like Tush was. When he sees Tush, he is told that there is something going on and he isn't sure what but that it must be something bad. The next time Trav hears anything about Tush, he's hearing that Tush is dead and committed suicide.  Not believing it for a  second Trav sets out to find the people who killed his friend. I was a little broken up at Tush's death since it shook up Travis so much. I truly love these books, the adventure and mystery that are in every one of them is incredible. I would rate this book a four out of five stars.

Grime and Punishment

Title: Grime and Punishment
Author: Z.A Maxfield
Publication date: May 7, 2013

Jack once long ago had a lover who in turn did something so terrible to him he has never completely gotten over it. Years later he is an injured man having suffered a terrible accident as a firefighter. He finds out his old lover is dead and being a crime scene clean up guy he offers his services to Nick's cousin Ryan. Jack thinks he needs to do this for closure and Ryan wants to do the same thing for some of the same reasons. The book has so much hurt and pain rolled into one amazing ending. I truly loved this book and the characters except for Dave who i think is a total asshole. I would rate this book a four out of five stars.

The Quick Red Fox

This was a really good Travis McGee novel that I enjoyed reading. A movie star is being blackmailed and hires Travis to find the person or persons responsible as well as to collect any other compromising photos that may be out there. Travis decides to take the case and finds out he is to be accompanied by Dana the movie stars assistant. She turns out to be a god send as she books their flights and hotel stays as well as other things. He grows to care for her and I was so happy for him after these previous books I thought he may have found the one. Alas, after snooping and bullying and investigating they find the persons responsible and Travis is attacked, which he always seems to be, by a murderer then Dana is bashed over the head when said murderer escapes. After all this happens my heart breaks for Trav who loses the girl. I could have shed some tears but I know he will have another chance! Read this book for the chance to be blown away with blackmail, murder, mystery and just some good old fashioned gorgeous man lol.

Nightmare in Pink

Even though I am a fan of these Travis McGee books by John D. MacDonald I have to say this one I hated the beginning. Travis is doing a favor for a friend who is dying and when he gets there to help the guys sister he ends up hitting her. I was like what???!! It made the woman cry and he says she's releasing some poison. Now I understand doing that when someone is in hysterics, but when I was reading it I didn't see the need for it. From there it picks up with the usual excitement. I didn't care for this one as much as the others though but it's still a good book.

A Purple Place for Dying

A Purple Place for Dying, a Travis McGee novel by John D. MacDonald, once again it was a joy to read this type of book! From the very beginning it was exciting and I couldn't put it down, even though I needed to go to bed.  I got so caught up in the lies, cheating, murder, missing money, and over all a missing body. God there was so much in there to read and it was wonderful getting lost in the pages of it. I'm not going to say anymore about it because I would ruin it but you should read it for sure! I would rate this a four out of five stars!!!

The Deep Blue Good-by

The Deep Blue Good-by A Travis McGee novel by John D. MacDonald originally published in 1964 then again in 1992 by Maynard MacDonald and now in 2013 by Lee Child. I have to say this is a classic read that any age would love. This is type of book my granddad had on his bookshelf along with Miss Marple and Mr. Perot books.  There is something sexy about Travis McGee that makes you want to read about him and keep reading all the way to the end and more. The mystery this book entails is only part of what makes it so good. The way it was written  just calls to you in a way that certain books these days just don't. The descriptiveness of the words just amazes me. I mean even in the very beginning the description of his boat made me see it clear as day. I would recommend this book to woman, man, teenager, adult and rate it at four stars!! I look forward to reading the rest of the McGee series!!

Secret Sisters

Secret Sisters by Emelle Gamble set to publish July 10, 2013. This book was interesting but not for me, although the idea of a sort of life after death seems amazing and surreal this just didn't get my enthusiasm.  Cathy and Roxanne are the best of friends, I don't understand their friendship at first but I later understand more, Roxanne is dealing not very well with a breakup. They are arguing back and forth when it happens, the crash. Skipping forward we come to the hospital where Roxanne awakens to find out that Cathy died in the crash and she has amnesia. We go through a lot of confusion along with poor Roxanne who I don't really feel that sorry for because even though it was deemed an accident I still felt like she was a little bit of a bitch.  Finally after long bouts of not remembering anything except for some flashbacks of certain things, which let me know exactly why she isn't remembering Roxanne's life, she remembers everything but not the way she was expecting. I am not going to tell you what happens because I think you should read it for yourselves and decide if it is something you will like. I honestly think there are some people that may thoroughly enjoy the book, and I wish them well reading it. For me, I would rate this book at a three stars for creativity.

Chose the WRONG guy, Gave him the wrong FINGER

Chose the WRONG guy, Gave him the wrong FINGER is written by Beth Harbison and set to publish July 9, 2013. The main characters of this book are Ashley, Burke and Frank. Ashley has history with these brothers who never get along, that's right she was set to marry Burke, she had been in love with him forever only to find out on her wedding day, by Frank that he has been cheating on her. Ashley decides not to go through with the wedding and ends up running off to Vegas for a memorable time with Frank. We skip to ten years later and Frank and Burke's Aunt is getting married and wants Ashley to make her wedding dress. Then all hell breaks lose, Burke who is still attracted to Ashley confuses the crap out of her causing her to get drunk and  lose her mind a little bit and start telling her customers all kinds of crazy things. Then Frank confesses his feelings for her and confuses her even more. I have to say that this book was a little hectic for me, although funny at times with all the drama I did not like Ashley. I understand she is confused in her feelings but for me I couldn't relate to her. If my man cheated on me before my wedding that would be the end and there may be feelings but I wouldn't be making out with him ten years later confused with my feelings. Granted she is also confused because she isn't sure that Frank was 100% honest with her about everything nor about why he waited to tell her minutes before she walked down the isle.  The book is good but as I said I couldn't relate to Ashley so I would rate it a three star book.

The First Lie

This is an original e-short story that sets the stage for Diane Chamberlain's new book Necessary Lies. I really enjoyed this short story I must say it has made me want to read the new book post haste! We start out with kids being kids and they end up releasing something they don't intend to and run away thinking all will be back to normal if they just ignore it. When Ivy arrives home it is to find her sister Mary Ella in labor. She is sent to the neighbors to phone for help. After arriving at the hospital Mary Ella has the baby but loses a lot of blood so they keep her for extra time. We find out early on that they are planning on removing her " appendix" and that confuses me at the time but by the end when you read the conversation between Mrs. Werkman and Nonnie you will totally understand and even gasp in some outrage if you are like me. I am wondering if Mary Ella even knows for sure what has happened. As I said I cannot wait to read the next book!!!

Fire Inside ( A Chaos Novel)

Fire Inside ( A Chaos Novel)  by Kristen Ashley was released June 4, 2013. I absolutely loved this book. I personally am a fan of the Sons of Anarchy and Hop reminds me of Jaxx soooo much except for his hair coloring. I was in love from the very beginning and couldn't put it down! There were some parts that I didn't like Lanie though, I realize she's having some issues because of what she went through but dang girl you made the first move now deal with the consequences you know. I must say the sex scenes were hot and steamy and also left some things to your imagination at times which I enjoyed. I was worried about Hop though for a long while dealing with that Benito business. I just knew  he was going to get hurt somehow and Lanie was going to freak and that was how Tyra and Tank would find out about them. Lanie got on my nerves with the whole she couldn't love anymore though and although as I said I totally understood that, at the same time I was like you have that gorgeous, sweet man there so obviously in love with you and you still push him away. Hop had determination I'll give him that, if I were him after all that pushing I would have been like look lady I can only play this game for so long cause it aint' worth it.  I honestly couldn't get enough, and would rate it at four and a half stars. I would recommend this book to everyone!

Complete Me

Complete Me is the third and final installment of the Damien Stark Trilogy written by J. Kenner.  EXPECTED RELEASE DATE July 30, 2013.

We have gone through a lot with Nikki and Damien in the past two books and this one is no exception. Although I have become used to Damien shutting Nikki out at the most important moments I was still upset when he did it to her following the trial. It was a time they should have been together and there for each other and yet he wouldn't open up to her and she had to go and talk to someone else about it. But he does make it up to her very quickly and explains why he acted the way he did. There is mystery as well as the usual hot and steamy sex scenes. Not all authors are able to keep my interested and wanting more after each book and yet here I am again even knowing this is the final book still wanting more of the story. Maybe in the future there will be another some years down the road or even pick up where this one left off. I have heard there may be a novella so that is something I am desperately looking forward to.
