Review:

**I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion.**
If I Were You is a different kind of BDSM novel than I usually read. Sara who is a teacher, has started reading a journal that belongs to a lady named Rebecca. There is a great deal of mystery and secrets involved with this lady and just that little bit grabbed my attention. Sara is concerned for the well being of Rebecca and has made it her mission to return her belongings to her so she goes in search of her. She finds the place she works and instead of finding Rebecca, who is mysteriously away with someone, she finds two gorgeous men. One is Mark the owner of the gallery the other is Chris, one of her favorite artists. While both men seem to have some kind of tension going on between them, she is amazed when after telling Mark she can take over Rebecca's job until she comes back that he actually hires her!!! What follows is a lot of what appears to be mind games from Mark and confusing sexual tension with Chris. The ending really leaves you hanging and making me want to smack some people around to make them realize what feelings are since they are so clueless apparently.

While I did thoroughly get involved in all of the characters lives, I would have liked to know more about both men. I do understand why the author leaves us hanging on that information though, I'm sure it will come out in the next installment. (Which I hope comes out soon because I am ready for it!!!!) Overall I would rate this book in at FOUR STARS!!!!!

**I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion.**

I liked the idea behind the story in this book and I loved how the author made you really wonder who the bad guy was until closer to the end. I personally would have preferred she leave it as a surprise until the climactic ending though lol, but WOW what an ending!  I love a shocker!  Lauren is a great character, I was able to relate to her on certain levels. I understand why it's hard for her to trust after what she went through, however, I have a big problem with her never listening when she is told to do something for her own safety. Sheesh, I just knew that something bad was going to happen to her all the time lol. Royce is HOT, HOT, HOT and I wanted him like crazy. I'm jealous actually haha. The brothers aren't so bad either. Overall I would rate this book at a high four stars because of the excitement alone!

Just One Night (Sex, Love & Stiletto #3) by Lauren Layne

Description:

Riley McKenna knows sex—good sex, bad sex, kinky sex…Her articles in Stiletto magazine are consistently the publication’s most scandalous—and the most read. But Riley has a secret…all that sexy talk? Not an ounce of it comes from personal experience. Her own bedroom escapades are more limited than even her best friends know. When her editor requests that all columnists write something more personal for Stiletto’s anniversary issue, Riley turns to the one man she’s always been able to count on and calls in the favor of a lifetime.

Sam Compton would do anything for Riley McKenna. Anything except be her experimental sex toy. He refuses her request. At least until she tells him that it’ll either be him or she’ll go to someone else. And that, Sam can’t accept. Reluctantly he agrees to her terms—one night of completely meaningless sex in the name of research. Riley thinks she’s prepared for what awaits her in Sam’s bed. After ten years of writing about sex, actually doing it shouldn't be that different, right? So wrong. What starts as “one time only” becomes “just one more time.” And then one more. And before they know it, Riley and Sam learn first-hand that when it comes to love, there’s no such thing as just one night.

Review:

Having never read any of this series, I must say after reading this one I was pleasantly surprised that unlike most series, you can read these in any order without being too confused. This is the third book in the series and even though I didn't know much about the other ladies relationships I still feel that it wasn't that big of a deal to start on this one. Riley is awesome! I love her character and what she does for a living! I mean not many people can say they do what she does. The date she is on in the beginning of the book is quite amusing with the commentary she has going on within her head. The fact she is trying to just settle and not be picky is hilarious after what he ends up doing. Sam is....well...Sam. Can I get me a Sam for myself please? He is so yummy and messed up in his own way due to his obnoxious and hateful mother. When he finally realizes he can do without her it's really too late in the story. I wish he had done it way, way sooner. Plus I wish we had seen that confrontation because it would have been epic. While Sam is fighting his attraction to Riley and being broken she is broken hearted to not be loved. Awww they are so sweet and cute together if they would just get their shit together. Overall the book is a solid 4 Stars!!! I need to read the other books in this series and get caught up as well as be on the lookout for any other books by this author!

Night After Night (Seductive Nights #1) by Lauren Blakely

Review:

I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion. Included in the book is the prequel titled First Night which gives you insight on how Julia and Clay met. I really enjoyed reading this prequel not only was it cute and fun, it was steamy and sexy as well. Moving on to Night After Night, this book was really good. I love the characters and how they interact with one another. I am a bit upset with Julia for not confiding her secret with Clay though, doesn't she know that even though he may not be able to help he can be there for her at least and help her to feel safe. I know shes worried he will be hurt but I have a feeling he can handle the truth and the more she lies to him the worse off their relationship is going to be. He has already said he doesn't tolerate lies, he has had enough of that to last a lifetime. I must say this author is very imaginative when it comes to the intimate scenes and they leave you running to jump your significant other or at least running to get your little battery operated friend. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters from the beginning and I cannot wait to read the next book to find out what will happen with the couple. Overall I would rate this book in at four stars!!

Blood Lovers by Jophrael L. Avario

    Blood Lovers
Jophrael L. Avario
Paranormal Erotica
Date Published: May 2011

Description:

Two men, one secret…a brand new life…
Abandoned to the streets of London as a teenager by homophobic parents, Tamir is rescued by the one person he needs to survive what he is. Vidar is a rich man, happy to offer the suicidal young man a sanctuary where no one can touch him.
Or so they think.
There is something different about Vidar, something that could mean trouble—or death—for both of them. Vidar is harboring a secret that could destroy both them, and the world of safe havens they've created.
But flourishing in a love born of blood, suicide, hate and abandonment, will Tamir and Vidar’s relationship last across their forced separation? Or will their fierce dependency, when combined with the uncontrollable split, send them rocketing on a path that will lead only to their deaths?

Review:

While a vampire novel is always going to be fiction and unbelievable, I still found this book to be a bit more unbelievable. Although I do love the way the author portrays the healing saliva of Vidar and the way he looks while in blood-lust. I did enjoy the plot, but the wording and characters at times confused me. I am confused as to why Vidar didn't just tell the police the truth in the beginning and avoid all the issues that followed. I am also not a Vidar fan at all because of his abusive nature, while I understand being a vampire is probably a very emotional affair, the abuse is unacceptable. I did like the character Amanda and I wish there had been more interactions with her and the guys, as it appears that Tamir feels she is a very good friend. The intimate scenes in this book are pretty well written and will make you fan your face a little. I enjoyed the book mostly, I only wish it were a tad more believable. I love how they take care of the cops and I suppose live happily ever after, but I wonder at the way it ended, is there to be another? Perhaps to show us what has happened after all this mess? Overall I would rate this book in at three stars.

The wheels of destiny are spiraling out of control quicker than even the gods can keep up. They all thought they knew what war was like—but have no idea how bad things are about to get. In the continuation of the Szolite series, two of the most dangerous powers in the Universe will be unleashed, threatening to push two fated beings apart.

A normal human girl. . .
Evesse Salazar never imagined that a violent end to her already difficult life would be just the beginning. After being thrown into a vortex, shredded apart, and killed, she is reborn as something more. Something she might not be able to manage. If that weren’t enough, she awakes newly mated to the last being in the Universe she ever would have chosen.
Now, with no other option, Eve must come to terms with her powers, her past, and her mate before he loses control of what might just be uncontrollable.

A god with a monster locked inside. . .
For over eleven thousand years, Zeniel, God of Tranquility, has done everything in his power to keep his other half, the God of Vengeance, from breaking free. A single glance from Mavrak is all it takes to kill those deemed guilty. The wraiths under his command can tear thousands to shreds in an instant, no matter how small their crimes. Zeniel knows he must remain at peace to keep Mavrak at bay, but he’s rendered helpless with one look into the eyes of his mate.
The longing for Evesse is enough to rip the demon out of its cage, and with the Gods on the verge of a cataclysmic war, Mavrak has every intention of gorging on both his mate, and the vengeance he so desperately needs.

Review:

Although I had never read the first book in this series, I wanted to give it a try because of how interesting it sounded. Granted at first I was so lost it was ridiculous, but after awhile I felt I knew enough to be caught up. From then on I must say it was an adventure on so many different levels.  The Gods and Goddesses are so real, it was like I could see them, however there were a LOT of characters in the book and at times it does get tiring.  Zeniel and Evesse have such a chemistry and the passion they exude for each other ....I just gotta say yummy!!! The way the author describes Zen just made me drool most of the time.. Why can't my hubby look like that I ask you lol!! Just kidding!!!  But seriously I loved this book and the way the author wrote it is just incredible. Once I got going I had a hard time putting it down and my family had a hard time getting my attention out of my Kindle lol. Totally worth it!!! I did receive this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion.

Review:

I love books that make you laugh right from the very beginning and this book does just that. You can't help but love the chemistry between Tad and Jules. The way he is always there for her and the feelings they have for each other even though neither seems to realize how the other feels. You have seen the movies and read the books where friends decide to become lovers and promise each other there will be no consequences. Well as we know, it is hard to  become lovers and not feel something....especially when you already have feelings for said person lol. The intimate scenes between them make me jealous of Jules...I wish I knew Tad lol... Also the way that he is with Evan, Jules son, is the most adorable and sexy thing ever. I do feel like Jules has her reasons for keeping her baby away from her ex, but Tad throws in some very valid points that may or may not have hurt her feelings but I feel that he is right regardless.

Overall I feel like the author draws you in and holds your attention in the best way. I loved the characters and the things they are all going through, and I love how things get resolved. I would rate this book in at 5 stars and I cannot wait to read more by this author!!!
