The Real Thing by Cassie Mae

Description

In this electrifying novel from New Adult sensation Cassie Mae, two close friends surprise themselves by shifting from platonic love to sexual attraction.

Eric Matua has one friend—his best friend and childhood sweetheart, who needs a place to stay for the summer. Mia Johnson has thousands of friends—who live in her computer. Along with her email chats and Facebook notifications, Mia also devours romance novels, spending countless hours with fictional characters, dreaming of her own Romeo to sweep her off her feet. When she starts receiving supersweet messages from a stranger who thinks she’s someone else, Mia begins to believe that real love is possible outside her virtual world.
When the two friends become roommates, Mia finds herself falling harder than she ever thought she could. But Eric keeps his desires locked away, unsure of himself and his ability to give his best friend what she deserves in a boyfriend. As her advances are continually spurned, Mia splits her time between Eric and her computer. But she soon realizes she’s about to lose the only real thing she’s ever had.

My Review

To start out I will say that I love this author and most of her books. Now....although this had a great storyline in it, I just wasn't feeling it. Mia just pissed me off with how stupid she was being. Does she really think it's ok to have a relationship with someone while secretly having conversations with another? Now if she hadn't of been so secret about it I may feel differently.  But look at what happened....I'm sorry but if someone was continuously emailing me thinking I was  someone else and after repeatedly telling them I wasnt that person then I would block them so fast heads would spin. I loved the relationship between Mia and Eric,  I realize he isn't quite your normal guy and the things he is dealing with are hard on him, but I just love him. I had a friend who was a bigger guy that reminded me of a giant teddy bear and I loved him to death.  I too had a crush for the longest time but eventually it became the love for a brother. There were times I wished he would tell her how he was feeling so maybe he wouldn't have gotten so worked up.   Overall I did enjoy the book I just wish things were a little different.

About the Author

Cassie Mae (who dawns the name Becca Ann on occasion) is the author of a few hundred… okay, maybe not that many… books. Some of which became popular for their quirky titles, characters, and stories. She likes writing about nerds, geeks, the awkward, the fluffy, the short, the shy, the loud, the fun.

Since publishing her bestselling debut, Reasons I Fell for the Funny Fat Friend, she has published and sold books to Random House, Swoon Romance, and Spencer Hill Press. She has a favorite of all her babies, but no, she won’t tell you what it is. (Mainly because it changes depending on the day.)

Along with writing, Cassie likes to binge watch Teen Wolf and The Big Bang Theory. She can quote Harry Potter lines quick as a whip. And she likes kissing her hubby, but only if his facial hair is trimmed. She also likes cheesecake to a very obsessive degree.

My Review

* I received this copy from Netgalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion. *

Can I just start out by saying how much I laughed when Sophie is mistaken for a prostitute!  Oh my god I nearly peed my pants from it.  While it did take me awhile to like Grayson I will admit he is sexy as hell. When he showed up with her sister I about died from shock as well. I felt for poor Sophie and the way her family seems to treat her.  I love the best friend and cannot wait to read his story. This book had a lot of humor in it as well as a little seriousness to keep you interested.  I would read it again and recommend it to friends.

No problem . . . until she realizes she may not be the only one whose heart has gotten completely tangled up in their no-strings agreement.!

My Review

* I received this copy from Netgalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion. *

I haven't read the other books in this series, however,  I wasn't really lost or anything.  I fell a little for Landon when the book began, and the longer I read the more I fell. Even though he is convinced he wants no romantic relationship I knew the two of them   were going to fall quickly and there was going to be a lot of denial going on. I realky liked it, although there were a few things I would have liked to go differently,  but overall a good read.

Virgin by Radhika Sanghani

Description

Okay, I admit it…I didn’t do it.

Yet.

This is normal, right?  I mean, just because everyone I know has talked like they’ve already done it doesn’t mean that they’re telling the truth…right?

It’s not like I’m asking for that much. I don’t need the perfect guy. I don’t need candlelight or roses. Honestly, I don’t even need a real bed.

The guys I know complain that girls are always looking for Mr. Right—do I have to wear a sign that says I’m only looking for Mr. Right Now?

Sooooo…anyone out there want sex? Anyone? Hello? Just for fun?

I am not going to die a virgin. One way or another I am going to make this happen.

Hey, what have I got to lose? Besides the obvious.

My Review

* I received this copy from Netgalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion. *

Okay first I have to say that I wanted to read this book because of the title. I was curious what it would be about. Then when I read the description I told myself this is going to be great. Now, having read this book, I can honestly say at times I was rolling my eyes and at others I laughed my butt off. From the very beginning I had a smile on my face that wouldn't go away. I had such a blast reading this I almost didn't want it to end. One of the most painful and hilarious moments was her wax job, oh my god I nearly died laughing while cringing at the same time. The story was ingenious and I loved it.

Reckless (Reckless, #1) by Priscilla West

Description

Everything about him warned me to stay away.

I’d seen bad boys before, but he had it all and more. The rippling muscles covered in tatts, the piercing eyes hiding dark secrets, the silky voice that could make a girl come with just a whisper . . .

He was exactly the type of guy that would get me in trouble, but when he jumped off the stage, inked skin glistening with sweat and breathed his seductive words into my ear, I couldn’t resist the temptation.

It was supposed to be the best one-night stand of my life, but fate didn’t let it play out that way. Things happened. I got upset. I got hasty. And worst of all, I got reckless.

After that disaster, I thought it was the last I’d see of him. But what I didn’t know was that I’d started something.

Something that could shatter the very thing I had worked so hard to protect.

I should have known back then that the most seductive things in life are also the most dangerous.

My Review

"I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion*

The beginning of this book was intense more than anything.  I love how Riley leaves the poor guy with blue balls haha. When it turns out she is to be the bands accountant I had to skile because of who was in the band. The attraction between them is inevitable,  you know someone is going to cave. Sometimes I felt like there was something deep and troubling about Jax.  As the story and drama unfolds I also feel like even though their connection is explosive,  they really aren't that good for each other. When things blow up and they end up going somewhere and she finds out some secrets about him, at first I was happy he had shared, but I knew in the back of my mind that no good would come of it. The cliff hanger at the end, while I was expecting it, was UNBELIEVABLE!! I am awaiting the next installment very impatient to find out what happens next!

Heated (Most Wanted #2) by J. Kenner

Description

I knew better than to risk my heart.
But fierce passion comes at a high price.

I grew up believing in right and wrong, good and evil, black and white. I knew better than to trust. And then I met Tyler Sharp.

Bold, charming, and dangerously sexy, Tyler always gets what he wants. But his smile can be deceiving, his dealings sordid, his ambitions ruthless. I thought I was the one woman strong enough to resist him, but our need for each other was too urgent to deny.

One look and I was in trouble. One touch and I was hooked. One night and I became his.

And now that I’ve fallen, there’s no going back.

My Review

* "I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinions"*

In this second book of the Most Wanted series we are taken into the life of Tyler Sharp who is not only sexy as hell but a ruthless businessman.  When Sloane,  who is a detective and looking for someone, first meets him I could feel the chemistry right away. I love these alpha men and the things they do, but I was a little concerned after one incident and kind of upset for a bit too. Of course being the fan of J.Kenner that I am, I kept reading with breathless anticipation, hoping it would turn around.....When shit hits the fan I was almost squealing with the excitement of everything going on. I want everyone to read this one for themselves so I won't be divulging pertinent information here, so get on it people!! Get your own copy!

My Review

I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.

I have come to anticipate the newest releases from this author, and I am always pleasantly surprised at how each book turns out.  While it is difficult for me personally to understand some of the situations she found herself in while married, I did feel empathy for her and her children.  I love the close bonds her and her family have. I feel sorry for the person in this book who is hateful and ridiculous in their own right. The relationship between Tammy and John Parker was sweet and entertaining to watch unfold.  I loved their chemistry through thr whole book. He is just so dreamy **insert sigh**. Anyway overall this book has it all, drama, comedy, mystery and romance. You are going to want to read this one!!

My Review

***Arc provided via Netgalley in exchange for honest review***

I was greatly disappointed by this book as I am normally a huge fan of this author. Her characters are good, the idea is good, its just that I couldn't get into this story for some reason. I hate that the main guy has issues and a mystery he keeps to himself and wont share with the woman he perceives as his. He is a bit crazy for me but I really don't want to dis on the book too much. I'm sure some people will really enjoy it just not me.
