25495353

Description

Sports hero and newly retired NFL quarterback Blake Cunningham wants a second chance at love…with his ex-wife. He's bought the house next door to her in Dare Valley and has built a bridge connecting their properties. It's his bridge to a better life, the one he lost when Natalie Hale left him after a family tragedy destroyed their marriage.

Natalie has just started a new job as the head caterer at the small town's historic hotel. When she discovers Blake has become the boy next door-literally-she secretly has to admit he still fires up all her engines and tugs at her heart. But the ghosts from their past seem too monumental to conquer.

Blake vows to help Natalie remember the power of their love and friendship. With the intense sparks of attraction flying between them, Natalie begins to put her heart out there again. How can she resist Blake when he makes her laugh and swoon by even acting out her secret Outlander fantasy? As they both give love a second chance, they are forced to face their most disturbing memories, not only the tragedy that ripped their lives apart, but also the secret parts they were afraid to share...

My Review

"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."

I have religiously read this series and while this one is number 8, it's still so exciting to see it on my Kindle lol. I love being able to read it before everyone else and throw my opinions out there.

Now the way I see it, Natalie is in a very dark place and has been for so long she threw away the best thing in her life. Blake loves her so much it just makes me want to cry for his pain. The things he goes through to try to win her back is so heartbreaking with every dismissal.  The way she lied to her family to try to make their separation about something else was horrible.  I really don't care for Natalie too much and felt that she didn't deserve to have Blake back...not even Touchdown. Gosh how I loved Blake and the things he does. He is such a great man and I wanted him to have everything he could possibly want.

I found myself laughing at the antics of his friends and loved how they were there for him. Jordan was by far the most entertaining but Sam has also touched a place in my heart and I was excited to learn there will be books with them in it.

There were so many times I almost threw my Kindle on the ground with disgust it was quite amusing to my husband lol. I have to say overall this is such an emotional read and you won't want to put it down.  I'm rating it in at four hearts. I also am anxious to read Andy's story!!!
