The two halves make a whole…
Or do they constantly battle for dominance?
Juliet Julius has watched her daughter, Kenna, grow into a fierce young woman. She has protected her. She has guarded her. She has sacrificed all she had to give. And she tried her hardest to keep her from the Dark.
But now it's Juliet’s turn.
Her social life is no longer on hold.
Juliet can shimmy her hips whenever she wants.
But it’s too bad those hips attract so much attention. Juliet might just have a sinister problem of her own. In the form of one hell of an alpha male who wants nothing more than to destroy her…and to sensually devour her body.
*This is a 20,000 word novella*
My Review
***I have received this ARC from the author in return for my honest opinions. I have not been compensated for them and all opinions formed are my own.***
After reading the first novella in this series, I was very anxious to see where Scarlett Dawn was going to go with the story next! Blood Tree Part One was very exciting and gave us a look at Kenna and everything she was going through before her Blood Tree Ceremony and as I have previously stated it was such an exciting read because there was darkness as well as light but in this novella....Holy crap has Scarlett Dawn turned everything upside down on me!!!
In this one we get the inside look at Kenna's mom...and her DAD!!! How she got to be an Outsider and what the hell had happened in her life. I was SHOCKED and THROWN FOR A LOOP at the inside look of Juliet's life! I NEVER for one second thought about who Kenna's father would be and OMG was I excited to see where the story was going. I love how we get to see not only the dark elf being his arrogant and controlling self but we also get to see a side to him that makes him more human of sorts. He is mad at Juliet because she has tried to keep Kenna hidden all these years and he basically tells her if she hadn't been such a good mother he would have tortured her and killed her for it. But then that side I was talking about came out and he let it slip that Kenna is his only child in all these years...LIFETIME... and since Juliet was the one to conceive with him she was about to become his baby maker lol.
I absolutely loved the book...as always Scarlett Dawn draws me into her stories and it is as if I am there with the characters feeling their pain and happiness. She always describes things so well that it is like watching a movie in my head...Oh what would I give for all of her books to become a TV Series or Movies!! Granted they never are as good as the original books, but it would be incredible to see.
It should come as no surprise that I am rating this one in at five stars and again I find myself very anxiously awaiting the next installment!!!!
