Six Brothers ( Gypsy Brothers #2) by Lili St. Germain

Description

I have lied.

I have cheated.

I have given my body and my life to the man who destroyed my family and left me for dead.

I have killed, I have sinned, and worst of all, I have enjoyed the misery of others.

I have licked the salty tears of a father mourning his firstborn son, and nothing has ever tasted so sweet.

I have died, and I have been resurrected, a phoenix from the ashes.

I know I'm going to hell. I'll burn in the fiery pits alongside Dornan and his sons for the things I've done, and for the things I'm about to do.

But I don't care. It will be worth every lick of the devils flames on my guilty flesh to destroy Dornan Ross.

One down, six to go.

Review: OH HOLY HELL!!!!! After finishing the first book in this series I was DYING to read the next book in the series. I kept a countdown on when I would be able to purchase it and inhale it!!! I was actually out of town and waiting in a convention center when it became available for me to buy. I immediately bought it and began to read it every chance I got in between breaks and classes. I finished it later that night, but am just now getting around to posting my review because I have been exhausted and wasn't really up to doing it.

The book doesn't disappoint in the least, if anything it gets you even more EXCITED to read the next one...if that is possible!!!

In case you haven't read the first book, I'm not going to spill the beans, just give a few pointers that everyone really already knows. Juliette Portland is dead. Sammi is out for revenge. Jase is hot and Sammi still has feelings for him but is trying to do what she came there to do. One brother is dead and gone and boy what a way to go. This book is about what happens in the aftermath of the first brothers death and also tells you who the next target is. Leading up to the next death is killer!!! The things that Sammi is having to go through just brings tears to my eyes at times and other times I want to pump my fist up and down in support of everything she is doing. The friends she has, well kinda friends anyway, are I think the only thing keeping her sane during this time. Dornan is pure evil and if we didn't figure that out during the first book you sure as hell will during this one. I love the genius of Sammi and how she gets to the next person on her list. I was a little worried though that her mission was going to be compromised toward the end though, I'm STOKED to find out the next book comes out in March!!!! Already I cannot freaking wait!!!! I'm rating this book in at 5 stars and I am impatiently awaiting the next installment!!!!

Thrown for a Curve (Perfect Fit #2) by Sugar Jamison

Description:
WHEN YOU'RE A BIG GIRL
Cherri has often wished she were thin and graceful like a ballerina instead of being a six-foot-tall blonde with curves that require serious caution. Surely a charming Irishman like her new boss Colin, with his throaty brogue and to-die-for bod, would never go for someone like Cherri. Unless maybe he's looking for the exact opposite of a delicate lass?

THERE'S MORE OF YOU TO LOVE
When Colin hired Cherri to work in his furniture-restoration shop, he had his eyes, first and foremost, on her artistic talents. But now he can't help but see Cherri for the lush, spirited beauty that she is...and, soon enough, he finds himself mixing business with pleasure. But Cherri turns out to be more vulnerable than she appears. Is she in need of more than Colin can give? Or could it be that a feeling stronger than lust has him thrown for a curve?

Publication Date: February 25, 2014

Review: **I have received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion.**
Okay, to begin with, I have never read the first book in this series as I had never heard of it before. However, after reading this book and getting to know Cherri's grandmother, I wonder if she has any appearances in that book as well and if so, I will for sure get that on my to read list. The author really draws us into the drama going on in Cherri's life. I personally understand most of it from a first hand experience  point of view and I can honestly say every time a situation arose it brought tears to my eyes and made me love them even more. I really related to these characters and the feelings Cherri has about certain situations, however at times I wanted to scream at her to open her eyes and move on before it's too late.

When a much anticipated yet horrible death occurs, I feel that is when Cherri becomes annoying. I mean I do understand why she is behaving the way she is, but with those that love her and the help and shoulders they could offer I just didn't get it. She has a gorgeous Irishman wanting to love her, she has best friends who would do anything for her and yet she still falls into her depression. Yes I know I should feel more for her as depression is such a common thing, however, I just feel like there were so many options she could have taken that she didn't and some of the problems that occur are all on her. I did however absolutely love the ending.  I laughed, I cried, I groaned with frustration and still I wouldn't rate this book any less than 4 stars.

Publication Date: February 11, 2014

Review:  **I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinions.**In the beginning when we meet poor Pandora, we immediately get a sense of who she is and how she was raised. She has bodyguards that seem a bit overbearing, she has a father who uses her to his advantage and it appears she is to be married off to someone that in the long run would help out her father's "business".  When she gets away from them and makes a run for it, I just knew she was going to make an incredible getaway that I would be proud of....not so much...she only went into a bar..??? Yes, this is me confused...personally if I were trying to make a miraculous getaway I would go far, far away not down the way and into a bar. Anyway, here is where we meet the incredibly gorgeous Jax....just his name makes you want to lick him up and down! I swear I had to wipe my chin to clean off the drool. These authors sure do have some amazing imaginations and their characters can make you sweat lol. As I was saying, in the bar is where we meet Jax, he seems to be the ultra alpha male and I could understand Pandora's instant attraction to him. I would have run off with him too. Sensing he is just what she needs to get away for awhile she chooses to leave with him and go back to his place.

I'm skipping ahead here because ***sigh*** you are going to want to read this yourselves.  After a night of pleasure, our characters awaken to find something horrible has happened. Again, I'm not blowing what is going on by telling you...but I will say that I started rubbing my hands together with glee.....

Skipping ahead again, here is where our main character Pandora gets on my nerves...she knows she has feelings for Jax, we know he has feelings for her, he more or less shouted in her face after she goes through the trouble of breaking through his barriers....only to decide herself it is too risky and too constricting for her newly freed self. I was about ready to smack the bitch and it was then I would have thrown a paperback book against the wall...however since I was on my tablet that wasn't an option lol. Continuing to read the book, she does earn her way back into my good graces and I really would have to say I did enjoy the ending but I feel there should have been a bit more.

I am rating this book in at 3 1/2 stars, but since there isn't a half option, I'm rounding up to 4 stars!!!

Asking For Trouble - PROMO Blitz
By Rosalind James
Contemporary Romance
Date Published: 2/1/2014

Sometimes you go looking for trouble. And sometimes, trouble finds you.

Alyssa Kincaid knows she needs to make some big changes. A move to San Francisco is the first step. Now it's time to get serious, and to get the rest of her life on track. If only her messy life would cooperate. And if only it had Joe Hartman in it.

Joe knows one thing for sure: Making a move on his best friend's little sister, the beloved youngest sibling in the closest thing to a family he's got, would be asking for trouble. Unfortunately, Alyssa always does seem to be asking for trouble. And it's getting harder and harder for Joe to resist answering.

EXCERPT

She hit the door, heard the chime behind her, and knew her new boyfriends were following right along. Until they realized that she was meeting the bike rider, because she could sense them slowing to a stop.

Joe barely looked at her, just reached for her arm and swung her behind him. She peered around from the shelter of his broad back, saw the three guys stopped halfway between the bulk of Joe and the liquor store entrance, looking like they weren't quite sure what to do next.

"You should take better care of your lady," Tall Guy said at last. "Not leave her all alone and lonely like that. She might get into trouble."

"I'm here now," Joe said.

The guy laughed, showing his bad teeth. "What? You looking for a fight? Three of us, man."

"I'm not looking for anything," Joe said, and she could see his hands flexing, could sense the readiness in him, like he was poised on his toes, even though he was standing solid. "But I'm happy to take anything that comes my way."

"Hey, man," the guy said with a shrug, taking a half-step back. "Just hanging out." He turned, would-be casual, and the three of them sauntered off, back to their pals, Alyssa presumed.

Joe stood still a moment, watching them go. Then he turned to Alyssa. "You OK?"

"Yeah," she said, her arms wrapped around herself, shivering with cold and tension. "Just freezing." She smiled, and could feel her teeth chattering. She'd really thought he was going to fight. Three guys.

He unzipped the heavy jacket and handed it to her. "Put this on." He watched her struggle with the zipper for a minute, her fingers too shaky for the task, then brushed her hands aside and zipped the jacket for her as if she were a child. Then he took off the helmet and gave her that, too. "I don't have another one with me. Wear this."

She hefted the weight of it. "Uh, Joe. I can't ride a motorcycle. Maybe you could just wait for a cab with me."

"You don't have to ride a motorcycle," he said. "I'll do the riding. You just have to hold on."

Seven Sons (Gypsy Brothers #1) by Lili St. Germain

Description: My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn't commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.

Including my innocence.

When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.

Before my father died, Dornan Ross and his seven sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.

I've just turned twenty-one, and I'm out for blood. I'm out for revenge.

But I didn't expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.

I didn't expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.

Now, I'm faced with an impossible choice-Jase, or avenging my fathers death?
