Date Published: June 12, 2014

Penny moves back to Miami to start her a job with a list of things to accomplish.

1.      Find a place to live.

3.      Reconnect with old high school friends: her best friend Sandra, the dramatic Eva, the dark Michael, her half-brother Wyatt, and her former crush Jay.

Jay may have kept her firmly in the “friend zone”, but that didn’t stop her from wanting more. Her five friends have stood by her through some difficult times and she’ll need their help now to accomplish her first two goals.

As soon as Jay sees Penny, he puts his plan into motion. His investors need to see him with a stable woman, one who isn’t all flash and no brains; Penny fits the bill perfectly. There’s just one hitch—he wants more.

Their pretend date sets off a whirlwind of plots. From mothers who want to control their children’s lives to the loss of her exciting new job, Penny’s world turns upside down. She knows she can overcome all obstacles except one—she’s falling for Jay all over again.

Victoria Pinder

Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She’s worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion.
During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she’d be a writer made sense when she turned thirty.
Besides her full time job of teaching, in 2013 and 2014, she sold on her own sold books to three different publishers. The Zoastra Affair, Chaperoning Paris, Borrowing the Doctor, and Electing Love will be published from Soul mate Publishing. Mything the Throne will be published with Double Dragon Ebooks. Favorite Coffee, Favorite Crush will be published with Jupiter Press.
Now she is represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency and she hopes to continue selling her novels that she writes. Moving up to the next level from hard work and determination is rewarding, and partnerships bring new opportunities.
Also she’s the Vice President of Programs for the Florida Romance Writers. She’s gone to multiple conferences and intends to continue. She learns and meets so many people at conferences. Her website is www.victoriapinder.com, and she’ll continue to grow my web presence. She is working hard on other projects and found the time to plan her wedding this year.
Before writing, her father had taken her to many star trek conventions and on her own she grew up as the only girl in the 90s at the comic book store. Science Fiction was her first love, but contemporary romance was her second. She’s sticking with contemporaries for the near future.
Member of Florida Romance Writers, Contemporary Romance, Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal chapter of RWA, Celtic Hearts and Savvy Authors.

Rebel: The Biker Next Door by Jamie Fuchs

Description
f you're a fan of alpha biker books, you're going to LOVE this one!

Mr. Cook has lived next door for about as long as I can remember. Covered in tattoos and the proud owner of a Harley Davidson, he’s never been well-liked around here by anyone but me. I never understood all of the hatred.

Only days after my birthday, he approached me with word of a surprise birthday present. Curious, I followed him toward his house and onto his roaring bike..

My Review

This is a very exotic and sexy short read. Just long enough to get your blood pumping and to make you want more of that sexy biker next door.

A Major Seduction (Good To Go #2) by Marie Harte

Description:

Major Mike Cava has done his best not to see Maria Thompson as anything but his baby sister’s best friend. Not an easy feat when Maria’s done her best to throw herself at him for years. But now that’s he’s returned to the East Coast and with his family again, he feels easier about handling little Maria.
Except in the two years since he’s seen her last, Maria has grown way up. Good God, she’s stunning. But now that he’s really seeing her, she isn’t seeing him. No more jumping into his arms or smiling and flirting. A bland hello and she’s leaving to go hang out with some other guy. Oh hell no.
Maria spent the past fourteen years mooning over a man who never saw her as anything but a little girl, and she’s done. Or so she tries fooling herself. She’s twenty-four years old, and it’s past time she grew up and over him. But now Mike’s giving “those” looks. He’s acting jealous. And she realizes that she’s not over him yet, and maybe one of her old plans to stir his interest might work this time around.
With the help of her best friend—Mike’s sister—and his younger brother, she’ll prove she’s more than woman enough to handle him. His dominance, his kink in the bedroom, his huge, hot body. But just when she thinks they can make a go of it, he pulls back. She can’t do it anymore. Loving, being hurt, loving, being ignored. This time if Mike wants her, he’ll have to prove it. She’s done.
And he’s just realized he might have made the biggest mistake of his life in pushing her away...

My Review:

***Complimentary copy provided by author/publisher for an honest review.***

Maria is what you could call almost obsessed about Mike and even though it is cute, in the beginning it is a little creepy lol. I do love how she goes about doing things though and find her enthusiasm refreshing. You also have to give kuddos to the bff who not only helps her with her plans all the time apparently but also supports Maria when she needs picking back up. The book begins with the two ladies being teens and picks back up when Mike has returned home and Maria is older. Maria has it in her mind that she is going to be over Mike. Why want someone that doesn't want you back...right? Then there is a family dinner and things begin to change. Mike has always tolerated Maria having a crush on him, he thought it was cute, but now that she seems indifferent to him, he is beginning to see her in a different light. When he overhears a very steamy conversation between Maria and her date he almost blows a gasket.

This is where the book begins to get steamy and sexy and oh so hot!! I always love Marie Harte's way with words in her love scenes. Those alpha males are usually so typical and yet with her books she gives it just that bit of edge that is different and sexy. I love these characters and the way we have a glimpse into their lives, and I cannot wait to read the next book. After a glimpse at what is to come I am almost quivering with anticipation. Overall I would rate this book in at Four Stars!!!

My Review

I loved the beginning of this book lol. Not only was I laughing my butt off but you could already feel that yummy chemistry building. Although I must throw in right away how ignorant I feel that Chrissy's brother is and overall I didn't care for him until the end....which may have been the author's intent. I love MMA and all that alpha maleness that leaks out when you watch the guys fight. I wanted to read this book as soon as I read the tite of it. I was highly upset with Jack for his little white lie, which I will not go into details about, but when you read it you will know what I'm talking about.  I really wish the book could have been longer because I know for sure I would still be reading it just to get more. I didn't want it to end. I loved the characters and the story that was layed out for us. I would love to read more by this author and in the future I am sure I will. Overall I would rate this book in at four stars!!!

My Review

***I received a copy of this book in return for my honest opinions***

This was such a cute book. I love the main female character and the things she is willing to go through to learn how to conquer her fear and learn to swim. I wish back in the day when I learned how to swim I had someone as good looking as she does though lol. From start to finish the book keeps you entertained with the conversations between certain characters make you laugh, and get angry on their behalf. I have to admit that this book was just the cutest thing I have read in such a long time and that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am rating it in at four stars because of some of the things that happen between certain people that shouldn't happen until there is a breakup no matter how much it was much deserved.

The Park of Sunset Dreams (Dare Valley, #6) by Ava Miles

Description

USA Today Bestselling Author Ava Miles of the #1 National Bestseller NORA ROBERTS LAND presents a fun, emotional, heartwarming romance about finding happily ever after…in a dog park.

“I am adding Ava Miles to my list of always reads like Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis, Kristen Ashley, and NORA ROBERTS.” Marjay's Reading Blog

Jane Wilcox has a secret. She’s been the incognito poker scout to a rock star poker player dressed as a smoking hot poker babe. Now that role is over, and she’s living in small town Dare Valley, working as a dog walker—or so everyone thinks. Without her Jimmy Choo heels and Prada gowns, she’s trying to find her new sexy Inner Swan and a fairytale romance, but she’s afraid she might have turned back into “Plain Jane” until she meets Matt Hale in the dog park.

The sexy lawyer has a rambunctious dog that needs her Dog Whisperer skills and slowly they move from friends to lovers. Matt is one of the good guys, a hero, totally boy-next-door material. He’s returned to his hometown after experiencing a tragedy. He was unable to find justice for the woman in his last legal case, and now she’s passed away and given him her dog. He’s vowed to give Henry a good home and right the wrongs in the system, so he’s running for mayor of Dare Valley.

Jane and Matt fall in love during sunset walks in the dog park, but soon Jane’s secret past comes back to haunt her and harms Matt’s bid for mayor. Can Jane and Matt’s love survive the controversy?

My Review

***"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."***
I have read some of Ava Miles's books in the past and although I have enjoyed them I never loved them really. After reading this book though I love her. I'm one of those readers that have to get into what they are reading and feel some kind of connection to the characters. I felt that right away with Jane, she has given up her alter ego and her slutty looking clothes that went along with the job she was doing with her friends. She and her best friend work with a professional card player to analyze other players and the way they play. During this job she and her friend dressed up to look completely different to appear as no threat. Still watching the dogs that belong to her former boss she meets Matt and his very rambunctious dog. He has noticed her before but when she uses her Dog Whispering powers to help him out he begins to see her more. When she finds out he is planning on running for political office she freaks because that could mean her past will come out to be known. Even though she has come to love him will she be able to deal with this whole mess? Read it and see!!!!
